Vision Aid Overseas is a charity dedicated to helping people in the developing world whose lives are blighted by poor eyesight, particularly where spectacles can help.

Since the charity was started in 1985, VAO has provided 600,000 eye tests and given over 300,000 people the ability to see with a pair of spectacles. With the World Health Organisation now recognising that 300 million people in the developing world need spectacles to live an ordinary life, the demand for the direct services VAO provides is always great.
